New managing director

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ingomar Kelbassa has been the new technical director since 1 December 2019. His predecessor, Dipl.-Ing. Claus-Peter Lehnert, retired after 15 years.

As an innovation leader in the industry, Weiss Spindle Technology regularly presents new developments and improvements to existing products. A way, which also lives and supports the new managing director. Ingomar Kelbassa has been working on topics that are directed towards the future since his studies in mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University and doctoral studies at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT.

After 16 years in research, he switched to industry in 2016 and most recently headed the manufacturing technology development of the Operating Company "Gas and Power" at Siemens as well as the "Company Core Technology Additive Manufacturing" of the entire Siemens AG. In addition, Dr. Kelbassa is responsible for the "Werner-von-Siemens Center for Industry and Science" in Berlin. Since 2014, he has been Associate Professor at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Victoria, Australia.

Ingomar Kelbassa is now bringing all this specialist and management experience to Weiss Spindeltechnologie GmbH and is looking forward to the new challenges: "We do not currently have the best economic conditions. But this is similar to almost all companies. For the future, however, I see ourselves in a very good position and I am convinced that we will not have to fear a downturn in any way, but will rather benefit disproportionately from the next upswing. We have a highly motivated, intelligent team at Weiss to tackle these future challenges. "
